Position:: Inside Sales Representative (ISR)
Reports to: Sales Leader
Purpose: To manage existing and new customers by building strong relationships, providing great service, and providing detailed information on various products and services offered by Metal Fab Engineering (MFE) to capture and increase sales.
Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is an associate level sales position who is primarily responsible for inside sales account management, front-line customer service, lead generation, primary sales qualification, social media and other marketing initiatives, increasing revenue and profit, and building the highest levels of customer satisfaction for existing and future clients. This position reports to the sales leader. This position serves as the primary service contact for clients and is responsible for client satisfaction, including making recommendations to MFE leadership and providing quotes based on customer needs. This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service and leadership to accounts, as well as represent company goals within the organization to ensure quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Represent the company by consistently demonstrating the understanding and modeling of company’s mission and values.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and customer retention through consistent, productive account calls.
- Be responsible for up-selling programs, services, and value-added products into current customer base.
- Develop/qualify inbound leads within specified new potential customer segment in your assigned region.
- Learn and execute proven processes to generate new sales opportunities by focusing on qualifying marketing generated demand leads and utilizing outbound tactics to generate sales demand with targeted accounts.
- Qualify new business primarily through inbound emails, leads and calls from potential customers, developing high level conversations with senior executives to target broader sales opportunities and generate sales growth.
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects that have not purchased from the company in the past and are identified as new customer acquisitions.
- Follow core processes for order entry, orders inbox management, and timely quote completion.
- Proactively follow up on customer requests, orders, and quotes in a timely manner to ensure timely and satisfactory resolutions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, handling inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
- Prepare and complete quotes based on customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Respond to customer questions regarding product offerings, pricing, lead times, and order status.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in a timely manner, escalating complex cases to the appropriate team members when necessary.
- Manage and update customer information in the CRM tool, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Handle any order changes, cancellations, or returns, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Enter customer orders into the ERP system, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
- Stay informed of and learns about all new technical applications, products, programs, and services available to customers in the territory and for applying or utilizing them whenever appropriate or timely.
- Align the overall corporate solution to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
- Attends and represents the company as required at trade shows and other events.
- Works with customers on the explanation of volume pricing and blanket PO’s.
- Handles customer calls and inquiries with timely and educated informational responses.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills: writing, editing, and presenting.
- Increase pipeline through demand generation and targeted campaigns to the install base accounts.
- Collaborate with the Sales team on sales strategy, customer satisfaction, and coverage of accounts as needed.
- Follow-up quotes with a target customer within 3 business days of receipt.
- All other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
Performance Measures:
- Meet monthly metrics established by the Sales Leader.
- Meet sales revenue and margin plan for assigned business.
- Identify at least 16 new target customers per month.
- Documents customers interactions and updates into CRM within 24 hours.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years successful experience as a successful inside sales representative, preferably in metals industry and/or contract manufacturing.
- Proven track record of closing sales to meet/exceed quota.
- Prior experience successfully working in metrics driven environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt successful sales techniques.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills.
- Organization and time management skills, independent and self-directed.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals and targets.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Outlook and Teams), and have experience working with CRM and ERP tools.
- Proficient with social media for marketing highly desired.
- Ability to use MS Teams, Zoom, or similar meeting tools.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and both oral and written communication skills.
Essential Physical / Cognitive Job Functions:
- Prompt and regular attendance at Metal Fab Engineering office.
- Ability to work shifts of at least 8 hours, and occasionally longer, 5 days per week.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to interact with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
- Up to 20% travel is possible for meetings and company business.
